Catholic Moral Theology with Fr. Daniel Kluge, MA

Mondays, Archdiocese of Denver, 7:00 – 8:30pm, begins January 3, 2022

A course on moral theology based on St. Thomas Aquinas’ Summa Theologica II

Interested in going to Heaven? Not sure if you’ll have the grace of martyrdom or a deathbed conversion? Then perhaps pursuing a life of virtue is the best idea. And who better to show us how than St. Thomas Aquinas? In the Second Part of his great work the Summa Theologica, he teaches us everything we need to know about how we ought to live in this life so as to be happy in the next. In this course, we will learn the basics of moral theology, as well as study the virtues we need to have, and the vices we must avoid. Along the way, we will consider a number of challenging questions, such as: “Is it ok to lie to save someone’s life? Is capital punishment admissible? Is it wrong to go to my daughter’s wedding if she’s getting married outside the Church? When is it time to don cape and cowl and be a vigilante crimefighter?” All these questions—and hundreds more—will be considered and answered by this study of St. Thomas.
