God Within

You will learn from the wisdom of the great theologians of the last century including Fr. Reginald Garrigou-Lagrange OP, Fr. John Arintero OP and Fr. Jordan Aumann OP; together, their works provide a wonderful summary of the spirituality of the Saints and Doctors of the Holy Mother Catholic Church — St. Catherine of Siena, St. Thomas Aquinas, St. Teresa of Avila, St. John of the Cross and St. Ignatius of Loyola.

Topics include:

The ultimate goal of every human being

The “Map to Eternal Life”

Deepening My Interior Life to Follow Christ Wherever He Leads

Adapted from spiritual formation lectures offered to seminarians at St. John Vianney Seminary during their Spirituality Year, this series of classes on deepening spiritual formation is for the laity, ages 21 and up, who feel an active call from Christ to follow him more closely and serve him actively in their daily life circumstances. These classes are also ideal for those who exercise leadership in the Church but desire deeper relational life with God.This class is a follow-up class to the introductory class, God Within by Peter Stur.

The One Thing Necessary

Living Out Your God-Given Mission

Invited and challenged by St. John Paul II words I Jubilee year: “Now we must look ahead, we must “put out into the deep”, trusting in Christ’s words: Duc in altum!..

“It is important however that what we propose, with the help of God, should be profoundly rooted in contemplation and prayer. Ours is a time of continual movement which often leads to restlessness, with the risk of “doing for the sake of doing”. We must resist this temptation by trying “to be” before trying “to do”. In this regard we should recall how Jesus reproved Martha: “You are anxious and troubled about many things; one thing is needful” (Lk 10:41-42) Our witness, however, would be hopelessly inadequate if we ourselves had not first contemplated his face.

A 24-week course designed after the Spiritual Exercises of Ignatius of Loyola and influenced by other spiritualities such as Dominican and Carmelite. This class prepares you to live your mission in the world. It will push you to take the leap of faith to be what God intended you to be.

Tuition: $480 per person and $720 for two family members.
